On a recent trip down the coast, I stumbled upon this small redwood labyrinth in the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden.
It was created by Herb Parker, about a week after a fire raged through the Garden, and is composed of sustainably produced redwood poles and a sod roof covered with native plants.
In the center is a small circle with two seating stones taken from a structure that was lost in the fire.
It's a nice place to spend a few quiet moments.
